Osama Bin Laden died,Osama Bin Laden die, Osama Bin Laden death, in a gun battle with special forces soldiers of the Navy SEALs, who carried out the operation. Their hideout was a house, almost a fortress, in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad, a little over 50 kilometers north of Islamabad Afghanistan. Abbottabad is a tourist center in Pakistan for decades, almost since the time of the British Empire, an area in which so much money people had a house to go there certain parts of the year.
It was one of the emails that bin Laden used to pass messages which allowed the CIA to tighten the noose and rule out other possible locations. But the first step was to find people you trust the leader of Al Qaeda. According to the first version released, was four years ago when the CIA thought he had found the identity of one of these emails. Two years ago, discovered the area of Pakistan where he lived and in August 2010, the house he was hiding.

The U.S. has taken nine years to hear the news I expected. In the end, if there was Bin Laden's death, the two sides to their advantage to a violent end. Americans are saving trial of unknown dimensions, with the threat of being hit by continuing attacks or kidnappings. Bin Laden was guaranteed the status of martyr to his cause.
In the coming months, we will answer to the question that many have done before: Is it more dangerous Bin Laden dead or alive? I think a live Bin Laden posed a permanent observation of U.S. failure to destroy Al Qaeda. As with any messianic movement, his followers could always rely on a miraculous recovery and return of the leader. Would not occur does not mean it was not real in their minds.
Politically, the death is another matter. The revolutions in the Arab world in recent months have shown that violent means of terror was not the only way to achieve change or the most propitious. Cairo's Tahrir Square was a symbol much more encouraging than the Kalashnikov that always accompanied Bin Laden in his images.
The military operation is a great opportunity for Obama to end the military deployment in Afghanistan, a war that has lasted longer than World War II. Is really an excuse, because it is unlikely that Bin Laden already had a direct influence beyond their status symbol, in the events in Afghanistan and the Taliban insurgency.
I do not know if it can be very optimistic at this point. Afghanistan is in a state of permanent war since 1979 and will continue after the withdrawal of foreign troops. The U.S. inability to find a time to declare victory or the end of the mission, together with the manifest weakness of the Afghan government had postponed the time to face reality. Perhaps that might be the best result of the death of Bin Laden.
Because terrorism in its different forms is as old as war and will not end in a magical way because Bin Laden has been shot in the head.
